From a young age, Reif was associated with the beach and art. Reif lived in Maui until the age of 3 . He then moved to Western Australia. Reif initially lived in Yallingup for a few months before moving to Subiaco. It was here he that he started to experiment with his artistic talents.Reif would often go to his mums studio after school rather than after-school care. He would be placed in front of an empty canvas and it would act as his baby sitter for the afternoon. Reifs' first main piece of art was a "Troll", painted in 1999.The Troll turned out to be popular amongst some of his mums' clients. One client in particular Frankiboi Quilty [ also Reif's GODFATHER ] showed extreme interest in the TROLL . Reif refused to sell the troll and he still has it on his wall today; He did however offer to paint Frankiboi a series of other TROLLS, this was when his COMMERCIAL tallents were recogniseReif moved to Florence st in Cottesloe in 2003 where he attended Scotch College in early 2004. Living close to the beach, Reif became a local grommet surfing Cottesloe Main Beach and the Cove with the local boardrider club. In 2006, Reif as year 9 Scotch student was asked to complete an International Baccalaureate Personal Project,.What is that!? GOOGLE IT!!! There were no restrictions on subject matter, Reif chose beachwear, he thought this would be FUN!! Certainly not school work! With Thanks to Scotch College and the IB program , OZ was born!!!. Grabbing inspiration from the name of a local Cottesloe street sign ,OZONE PARADE, he further developed the brand with a range of fresh boardshorts displaying his original artworks .The label quickly gained popularity amongst the local community. OZ was in demand! Reif decided OZ was his future ,The rest is history!! Reif continues to inspire the younger generations with his fresh unique designs. also introducing fresh new young, artistic talent to the OZ team.
